When it comes to the world of industrial work, there are many different things that you need to think about. Elements like continuing education are essential to any career, no matter what type of career you have. There are certain kinds of certification and training that are must-haves, and making sure that your employees are up to date is the key to your success as a business. You need to take the time to have a file with three simple pieces of information on hand at all times so that you can track your employees’ progress:

1. What CE courses or certifications are required. Knowing what people have to take is a great way to get them started on the path to CE success. You can figure out what classes they need, where they are available, and when it is best for them to get them. Each state has different guidelines, and the industrial field also relies on OSHA guidelines, so keep this in mind.

2. Which courses they’ve taken already, if any. By combining the knowledge of which courses they’ve taken and which they need to take, you can get a comprehensive look at what their industrial CE or certification course schedule should look like and how long it will take them to accomplish the classes that they need. Plus some instances require you to know because classes cannot be taken twice to count as credit.

3. When their current certifications expire. The expiration or renewal date is critical, because it will tell you exactly when people are supposed to have their courses in by. This can help you to create an effective schedule for getting the courses done in a timely fashion.

When you know these things, you will be much better prepared to help your employees get or maintain their certifications by completing the courses that they need. When you utilize the accessibility of online classes, you will also be able to track things online through a learning management system, which can make your life a lot easier than you might realize. You could rely on your employees to track their own CE credits and certification, but this is dangerous because if they’re ever caught without them, your business gets in trouble. Therefore, you should take care of your business by making sure that everyone has their courses taken and is current on certification.
