EPA careers, like all careers, are facing a whole new world of uncertainty. In light of the recent recession, many things have changed in the economy, creating a whole new way of doing business and operating for career professionals. When you are getting your Environmental Training, you will need to also take the time to learn about how you are going to manage your career given the new economy and its very unique elements. Things are different now, and you need to know how to handle your career and yourself so that you can secure your future even through these rocky times.
Managing your career in the new economy is all about caution and precision. You need to get your EPA training so that you can keep your skills and experience up to date. You also need to take the time to make very precise and deliberate decisions about your career. Now is not the time for changing jobs, advancement that is risky, or any situation that will put your career in jeopardy. You need to act with extreme caution and deliberation in managing your career today, making sure that everything that you do is in the interest of keeping your current position secure.
The economy is still new and fresh, and it is still recovering from the recession. Jobs are not as plentiful and advancement opportunities are just as scarce. You should make sure that you are either staying in your career and doing what you can to make it a stable and secure environment, or that you are finding a safe, stable job if you have recently completed your EPA training and are on the hunt for a job. Ultimately, the new economy calls for a certain amount of caution in all areas of job management, training, and future success.
It might seem like things are okay, but there is still a very timid nature about the economy that could cause anything to change in an instant. If you want to make sure that your EPA career is safe, you should be doing whatever you can to stay put and make very few waves. As time goes on, you will be able to change jobs, make career advancement moves, and get on with your success. However, now is not the time to risk your career for the sake of advancement, because the odds are stacked against you significantly.
