The service industry covers a wide array of careers. Those who need safety training, responsible server training, or continuing education for their service career need to check out the world of online training. While some states still don’t recognize this as a legitimate way to gain CE credits and other training, most do, so it’s a great option for many people. First, you should check with your licensing or regulatory agency to determine if you’re eligible to take online courses. If you are, you should check them out to see what you can find. You will likely be pleasantly surprised with all of the options that you have. Here are three great reasons to train online for service training and CE:
Online courses are more convenient than other courses. You can do them from home, on your own schedule and you don’t have to worry about rearranging your life just to take a class. You can enjoy working at your own pace, and can have your choice of courses and providers to choose from, unless your employer supplies the course for you. Either way, there is so much convenience in online education.
Affordability is another issue. Traveling and attending actual classes can be expensive. Some people (even employers) don’t have the money for this. On-site training with the entire staff is even more expensive (think thousands of dollars). However, online courses have no extra expenses, very little overhead, and a price tag that is much more admirable than other types of training and continuing education classes.
Accessible classes are yours. Many people used to hate the hassle of training and continuing education because they were forced to take whatever classes were available in their particular area. However, people can now enjoy whatever courses they want with just a few clicks because the internet offers many more options for training and education. Some course topics that might not have been available to you before are now yours for the taking, making training and CE much less of a hassle than it has ever been.
These are just a few great reasons to take online courses for your food service or other service related training. It doesn’t matter if you need responsible alcohol certification or food safety courses, because you can find everything that you need online. Employers can even set up a course for the entire staff and monitor their progress and certification along the way through an LMS (learning management system) offered by the course provider.
